In today’s afternoon game versus the Mets, the Yankees once again showcased the power that will make for an exciting 2018 season. Although the Yankees managed 8 hits through the first 7 innings, they were only able to score 1 run. That all changed in the top of the 8th inning, as Billy McKinney hit a grand slam for his 4th homerun of the spring. The Yankees piled onto that lead in the top of the 9th as Trey Amburgey hit his first jack of the spring. The 3-run shot to center put the Yankees ahead 11-4. Domingo Germán struck out 5 batters in 2.2 innings, while only giving up 1 hit and zero earned runs. Brady Lail got the victory, striking out 2 in 2 scoreless innings pitched. Cale Coshow shut it down in the 9th, striking out 2 batters in the final frame.
